Sarah Mintz was born and raised in Monroe, LA. Active in sports all her life, exercising and training is second nature to Sarah. She began playing softball at the age of six and was selected to be part of the top travelling softball programs in the state. She attended Tulane University where she received a degree in Business Management. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, Sarah attended the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) in Denver, Colorado. Along with her certification from NPTI, she has a N.A.S.M (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certification. While the high intensity interval training of Hour Blast is her favorite way to sweat, she also likes finding challenging adventures like hiking and outdoor cycling. When she’s not training or teaching you can find Sarah relaxing with her friends and family.
Amanda Adjmi was born and raised in New Orleans and has been active in sports and fitness for as long as she can remember. She began gymnastics at age nine, competed for twelve years, and was a distinguished member of the US national team for sports acrobatics gymnastics. She attended Tulane University where she received a degree in Sports Medicine, and she also has an ASFA group fitness certification. Although Hour Blast is her favorite workout, she also enjoys Bikram Yoga and running half marathons. When she’s not working out, she spends her time taking care of her 3 year old boy/girl twins.
Melissa Fuselier was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. Melissa began running cross country and track at age 12 and has been a runner ever since. She was a member of Alabama’s All State and All County cross country rankings and was a middle distance track runner for 6 years. Melissa attended University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in English and Public Relations and then moved to New Orleans in 2002 to attend law school at Loyola University. Melissa practiced law in both Georgia and Louisiana for 7 years before deciding to dedicate her time to her true passion – fitness. Melissa is an AFAA and TRX certified personal trainer. Melissa’s favorite workout is Hour Blast because it most resembles the interval training she enjoyed from her cross country and track days. Melissa takes Hour Blast 3 to 4 times a week but also enjoys running outside, pilates and yoga. When Melissa is not at Hour Blast you can find her chasing around her two children, John (3) and Stella (2).
Barbara Bolotte is a native New Orleanian. She is a certified ASAF group training instructor and owner of Clean Creations healthy meals delivered. Barbara is very involved in the fitness industry. In addition to personal and group training, she is also an IFBB bikini pro competitor, spokesmodel for Bpi sports and cover model for the March 2012 edition of Muscle Magazine. When she is not training or cooking for her business, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Meg Baldwin was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. She was active in ballet and dance for 14 years. Meg’s love of dance naturally transitioned in to a love of fitness that only grew with time. Meg graduated from LSU’s Health Science Center with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and became a registered nurse. After working several years in a cardiac critical care unit, Meg decided to stay home to care for her children. When looking to get back in shape after giving birth to her second child, Meg discovered Hour Blast and hasn’t looked back! The amazing feeling after each class made Meg fall in love with Hour Blast. Meg’s love of fitness and tremendous value of a healthy lifestyle that Hour Blast represents inspired Meg to start a new career. Meg is an AFAA and TRX Certified trainer and is excited to be a part of the Hour Blast team and to share the health and positivity that Hour Blast has given her life. When not teaching or taking Hour Blast, Meg is playing with her two children, Mary Frances and Will, and volunteering with various organizations in the city.
Leigh Anne Henican was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. Growing up, she spent most of her free time taking ballet classes and attending dance competitions. Leigh Anne graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005. In 2006, she moved to New Orleans to attend law school at Loyola University and is now a licensed practicing attorney. During law school, she began running as a way to relieve stress. Since then, she has run more than nine half marathons and countless smaller races. Leigh Anne has been taking Hour Blast classes since the studio opened. She loved the high intensity and challenging workout so much that in 2014 she obtained her AFAA Group Exercise certification and began teaching classes. When she isn’t working out, you can find Leigh Anne spending time with friends, family, and her dog Stella.
Caroline Horstmann was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and LSU Law School. She spent several years practicing law before shifting her focus to teaching classes. She holds certifications in AFAA group exercise, TRX, Spinning, Pilates, yoga and barre. Caroline has run 2 marathons, including the New York marathon in 2008, and a few half marathons, sprint triathlons, and adventure races. Caroline has recently returned to the New Orleans area after a year-long stay with her husband’s employment in Houston, Texas. She is so excited to be back to Hour Blast teaching classes again! When Caroline is not teaching class, you can find her working on crafts, refinishing furniture, and spending time with her husband, Lee.
Marissa Uhlich was born and raised in New Orleans. Her love of sports and passion for an active lifestyle started as a young girl. Growing up, she was a competitive cheerleader and active on two cheerleading squads. She was also a member of her high school’s track team. Marissa graduated from LSU in 2006 with a degree in advertising, and again in 2010 with an LSU MBA. Geaux Tigers! Her dedication to all things healthy and fit has only grown over the past few years. She is an AFAA certified personal trainer and Maddog certified spin instructor. When she isn’t sweating it out or teaching at Hour Blast she is a mom to two little girls, Stella and Natalia.
Jill Fitzpatrick was raised in New Orleans and then graduated from Washington and Lee University with a degree in Biology. She went on to pursue her Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies at Emory. She worked at the Emory Winship Cancer Center in Atlanta before moving back to New Orleans with her family 5 years ago. Jill currently works at the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center Ochsner and her main focus is breast cancer patients. A large part of her work is treating all cancer survivors and focusing on the great importance of exercise in their continued recovery.
JIll is an AFPA group certified instructor and has always loved to run. She has been taking Hour Blast classes for several years and loves the variety and energy of the classes. She loved it so much she decided she wanted to teach and hasn’t looked back. She is married to Grady and they have 2 daughters. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family and travel.
Rachel Monteleone was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from LSU. She is Schwinn certified and also has experience teaching barre and dance. Rachel has danced her entire life, and has been dancing professionally for 6 years. She has 3 years of experience dancing for the NBA (with our own New Orleans Pelicans), and has traveled to perform on a variety of stages. Rachel found her love for fitness through dance, and is excited to be a part of the Hour Blast team! When she’s not teaching class or dancing, you’ll find her searching the city for live music and hanging out with her friends and family!
Lauren Rosendahl was born and raised in Monroe, LA is an AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor. She was extremely active growing up, and participated in various sports which sparked her passion for fitness. Lauren established an active lifestyle at a young age, and has continued to make fitness a priority in her life. Lauren attended LSU where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and began her career in Retail Management. Lauren works as the General Manager of an apparel store in downtown New Orleans, and is also a licensed real estate agent with Valmont Realtors. Lauren strives to find a balance between all the wonderful food and excitement that New Orleans offers while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The energy and results of the classes at Hour Blast provide her with a great opportunity to motivate others, and the flexible class schedules fit seamlessly into her life. Lauren and her husband, Matt, recently welcomed a baby girl, Reese, into their family this summer. During downtime, Lauren enjoys escaping to the Gulf Coast for the weekend near the water with family and friends
Lizzi Showalter was born and raised in Old Metairie, and grew up watching her parents lead an active lifestyle. From an early age, she remembers watching her father train for triathlons and running events and her parents jointly training for bike races. She fondly remembers training for local "fun run" races with her father while she was in grammar school. Lizzi stayed active throughout high school, college, and law school, and following her graduation from law school, Lizzi began training for half marathons. As a supplement to her training, she regularly took Hour Blast classes to gain speed and strength. In 2014, she earned her AFAA group exercise certification and began teaching Hour Blast classes. She adores teaching and is personally motivated by the hard work her clients put in during class. When not teaching Hour Blast, she is a practicing lawyer. In her free time, she loves taking Hour Blast classes, practicing yoga, and running with her husband and daughter. She hopes to motivate her family to live a healthy, active life the same way that her parents have done for her.
Jenny Butler is a native New Orleanean and proud mom of two sweet girls – Caroline and Virginia. She works to support a local businessman and philanthropist in his civic and non-profit endeavors. Between full time work and being a mom, Jenny was trying hard to figure out how to maximize her exercise time. She discovered Hour Blast in the fall of 2014 and hasn’t looked back. In fact, over time, Jenny transitioned the time devoted to running, her sessions with a personal trainer, and boot camp classes to Hour Blast. She loves the high intensity, full body workout and challenge that comes with each class. It’s the perfect stress release! Jenny’s personal commitment to exercise – and it’s important impact both physically and mentally – caused her to seek her AFPA certification this spring and begin teaching classes in June 2016. She’s super excited to be a part of the Hour Blast team.
Linnea Gregg – Born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii, Linnea first jumped head-first into the deep end of a pool when she was two years old. It is of little surprise that she went on to become a competitive swimmer several years later. When not in the pool or the ocean, Linnea spent countless hours of her early life in dance classes and rehearsals for local musicals. While attending the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU to obtain her BFA in theatre, she added running and interval training into her repertoire of physical activities. Now, in New Orleans, Linnea divides her time between Hour Blast, biking around the city, writing, dancing, theatre, film, and impersonating Disney princesses at children’s birthday parties. Linnea is an AFAA certified group fitness instructor.
Taylor Ovella Taylor has resided in Old Metairie her entire life. She graduated from LSU in 2013 and is a degree candidate for a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Holy Cross in May of 2017. Taylor is specializing in pediatric neurological disorders and has a passion for helping children diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome Disorder, ADHD/ADD and Intellectual Disabilities. Taylor’s passion for dancing began at the early age of 9 months. Dieting and exercise was always a weakness for Taylor. She struggled with eating disorders at a young age. In 2016, Taylor turned to Hour Blast to help her achieve her goals and to empower herself. Now, she religiously takes 3 classes a week and is officially obsessed with Hour Blast. She loved Hour Blast so much that she became an ASFA certified trainer at Hour Blast Lakeview. Taylor loves teaching at Hour Blast Lakeview because she wants to help others achieve their goals. This empowerment is demonstrated through guiding her clients into putting their best into their workout. Taylor wants to help clients achieve an equal mind body experience. If she is not at Hour Blast, she is spending her time volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate or spending time with family and friends.
Bria Papia Bria is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up as competitive team gymnast for 13 years and earned herself a partial athletic scholarship to LSU’s Varsity Cheerleading Team as well as LSU’s National Competitor Cheerleading Team where LSU placed in the top 5 in the country from 1998-2002. Bria was invited to become apart of UCA’s College Cheerleading Circuit Team, where she instructed at the college level and choreographed all college material from 1998-2002.
Bria graduated with her B.A. degree from LSU, but continued to instruct and judge in the LSU athletic program. She went on to co-coach the LSU Varsity team and National Competitor team in 2006 where they won 5th place in their division. Bria has taken her fitness to the next level over the years and embraced her love for competing by training for marathons and triathlons. She participates in the Rock-n-Roll ½ Marathons every year in major metropolitan cities as well as off road ½ marathons where she won 1st place in her in the Cajun Country Off Trail in Lafayette Louisiana. She is also a current triathlete and enters the sprint triathlons within the TriAmerica and Cajun Man Triathlon programs. Bria joined the Hour Blast family in April of this year and is getting her Personal Training Certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America(AFAA). She absolutely loves instructing at Hour Blast and feels blessed to be apart of the inspiring family that is changing so many lives!
Ashley Stephens A native of Mandeville, Louisiana, Ashley attended LSU where she graduated from in 2009 with her bachelor’s degree. While attending LSU, Ashley danced on the LSU Tiger Girls dance team, which provided her with the opportunity to train with collegiate athletes and truly develop a passion for fitness. After college, Ashley was a founding member and the Artistic Director of Bel Vol, an aerial silk performance company. Bel Vol has performed at venues such as the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, and has been featured in 225 Magazine. She has choreographed and performed aerial silk pieces for the contemporary dance company Of Moving Colors. In addition to her local work at Northshore Academy of Dance, Ashley has contracted with Universal Dance Association to teach workshops in China, Columbia, Germany, Ecuador, Slovenia, Scotland, Croatia, Finland and Korea. She has also performed and choreographed pieces with the LSU Theater Department for the International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Over the years, Ashley has trained and danced in numerous places, including New York and Los Angeles, where she interned with the internationally acclaimed Diavolo Dance Theatre. In order to continue her ongoing education in teaching and training, she is currently enrolled in the National Academy of Sports Medicine training program. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys yoga, waterskiing, and really anything outdoors. Ashley feels so blessed to be a part of the Hour Blast family!
Ashley Smith Ashley relocated to New Orleans from the Washington, D.C. area in 2012. For as long as she could remember she’s always led an active lifestyle and had a passion for health and wellness. She grew up playing softball and cheerleading. Today, she does something to sweat everyday and loves to try new innovative workouts. Ashley has a Bachelors degree in Sociology/Psychology from Hampton University and Masters degree in Health Systems Administration from Georgetown University. She is a AFAA certified group exercise instructor. Ashley is extremely adventurous; she loves hiking, cliff diving, boxing, paddle boarding and running. When she’s not at Hour Blast, Ashley enjoys traveling the world and spending time with friends, family, and her Shih Tzu/Boston Terrier, Lovey.
Alex Grillot Alex was born and raised right here in Lakeview and graduated college with a Business Administration degree in 2012. She was a competitive gymnast for 13 years, so fitness was always her comfort zone. Her family owns Empire Gymnastics Academy where she has taught since she was 15. In 2014 she opened up her own LLC, Empire Gymnastics of Lakeview. She took her first class at Hour Blast this past April where she fell in love with the high intensity class they offer! That’s what sparked her interest in becoming a trainer here at Hour Blast Lakeview. It has always brought her so much joy teaching little ones how to form into a healthy, fit child, she was so excited when she finally had that opportunity to make this happen with adults. Alex is certified by ASFA and USAG where she can guide all of her clients to the strongest and healthiest lifestyle they can have. Nothing makes her more determined than hearing her clients, from children to adults, thank herbfor guiding them towards a stronger lifestyle. She also enjoys beach volleyball, spending time with her family of 10, and her sweet little boy Mylo, the Shih Tzu.
